Are you looking for a beta reader?
I beta read with one goal in mind: to give you a real reader’s experience of your story.
I’m not here to polish your sentences or restructure your chapters. What I will do is tell you where the story worked for me, where it didn’t, and why.
My feedback comes as in-line comments, a written report, and a follow-up email so you can ask questions.
I only take on books I connect with—because that’s the only way I can give your book the attention it deserves.
And if your story isn’t a fit, I’ll be honest about that too.

FAQs About Working With Me
Do you just tell me if my book is good or bad?
No. My role is to read your story carefully and describe how it came across to me as a reader. I note where the story held my attention, where it drifted, and how it felt to experience as a whole. I don’t evaluate or correct your work. I provide a clear account of how it read from the outside.
Will you help me fix my story?
No. That isn’t the purpose of a beta read. My notes focus on pacing, character engagement, plot clarity, and the overall reader experience. I don’t make changes or suggest rewrites. I show you how the story reads from a reader’s perspective so you can decide what, if anything, to adjust.
What genres do you read?
I enjoy being taken into new and exciting worlds. I gravitate toward speculative, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, mystery, and some historical fiction and romance, for both YA and adult audiences. I don’t read memoir, poetry, children’s books, or most non-fiction. If you’re not sure what genre your story falls into, that’s perfectly fine. Fill out my short questionnaire and I’ll let you know if I’m the right fit for your book.
What happens if you’re not the right reader for my book?
That’s something I determine before we begin. The short questionnaire helps me understand your story, genre, and what kind of feedback you’re looking for so I can confirm we’re a good match. Once the project starts, I complete the full read and provide feedback as agreed.
Will your feedback hurt?
It might feel uncomfortable at first, but that’s only because I give an honest reaction to what I read. I’m always respectful and as clear as possible when explaining why I responded a certain way. My goal is to make the feedback process helpful and encouraging.
What is the process like?
You fill out a short intake form, I confirm we’re a good fit, and once we start, I read your manuscript in Google Docs with in-line comments. When I’m done, you receive a feedback report and one follow-up email for clarification. Simple, transparent, and straightforward.
How long does it take to get feedback?
Turnaround depends on word count. I typically read at a rate of 10,000 words every three business days. Smaller projects may take about a week, while full manuscripts can take several weeks. I’ll give you a clear estimate before we begin, and I stick to it.
How much does it cost?
Rates vary by project size and depth of feedback.

Do you sign NDAs or confidentiality agreements?
I’m happy to sign one if requested, though I follow strict confidentiality whether there’s a formal agreement or not. Nothing you share is discussed or shown to anyone else without your written permission. I keep my reading notes for reference in case you have follow-up questions later or want to work together again on future books in a series.
Can I ask questions after I get my feedback?
Yes. You’ll receive one follow-up email where you can ask for clarification about any of my comments or the feedback report. I want to make sure you fully understand all of my notes, even if you’re still deciding how to use them.
Can I hire you again for the same book or a future one?
Yes. The process stays the same each time.
What makes your beta reading different?
I read with care and attention. My focus is on the reader’s experience, not on rewriting or correcting your work. I pay attention to how the story flows, what draws me in, and how it feels as a whole. My feedback reflects that experience so you can see your story from a reader’s point of view.
